Instead, he prayed and trusted that God would deliver them from their enemies. And indeed He did – the walls fell down flat after seven days of marching around the city with trumpets sounding (Joshua 6:20).

Another important aspect of being a soldier as well as a Christian is abiding by moral standards. It’s okay to ask for guidance if you feel yourself bending outside these morals lines whether they stem from internal convictions or external sources such as commanding officers that conflict with your faith.

We should never forget that being a soldier does not mean putting our faith on hold or compromising our beliefs. Ultimately, being a Christian soldier means recognizing that we are serving a higher spiritual authority than any earthly command or order. It means striving to live out our faith every day, both on and off the battlefield.

Trusting in His strength and wisdom

A great example of trusting in His strength and wisdom can be found in David’s defeat over Goliath. When everyone else saw an unbeatable giant standing before them, David saw an opportunity for God to show His power through him.
